Simulating water behaviour in coastal areas is an important tool when predicting sedimentary processes over geological time. We implement a general lattice Boltzmann model for shallow water flow, that can handle having dry areas in the simulated system. The lattice Boltzmann model is a relative new numerical technique where direct computing between dry and wet nodes was only achieved in the last three years. In this thesis we tried to implement the model in a way that allows us to gain accurate results when working with realistic systems. We found our simulator to be accurate in one dimension when simulating with bed friction and in two dimensions when simulating frictionless systems.
