Purpose: The overall purpose of this project was to explore the transition into long-term care placement for older residents from different perspectives in order to maintain and enhance health and well-being, and inform practice and improve care. Methods: An ethnographic design used three sources of data, periodic participating observations, individual semi-structured interviews, and reading of relevant documents.
