International audienceThis article examines the oral and glottaladjustments, as well as their coordination, during theproduction of singleton and geminate voiceless stopsin Berber using fiberscopy, photoglottography andacoustic analyses. Acoustically, closure duration ofgeminates is longer than singletons. VOT, on theother hand, does not contribute to the distinction oflength. At the glottal level, voiceless stops arerealized with a glottal opening covering both theclosure portion and the aspiration portion. Geminatesand singletons differ in terms of timing and size ofglottal opening. Geminates have a larger and longerglottal opening than singletons.
