This thesis is based on a literature study with research from the use of music in groups within substance abuse or in mental health work. The articles focus on both the user perspective and the perspective from the group leader. The goal is to see how the relation can be created in groups with the use of music. What key factors is needed to create this good relation between the group members and leader. Theory of communication, relation and activity in group method is used as a context for the discussion. I have made a strategic search to find four relevant articles that have both qualitative and quantitative study designs.
