This work provides measurements of the gamma-SF and NLD of both 188Re and 187Re, which will enable the first experimental constraints on the 186Re(n,gamma) cross sections to better understand the s-process branching point of 186W. This will also provide insight on resonances in the gamma-SF. Data for both isotopes were extracted from a single experiment done at the Oslo Cyclotron Laboratory in 2016, with a 30 MeV alpha-beam with SiRi for particle detection and CACTUS for gamma-detection. The data was then analysed using the Oslo method. Neither gamma-SF showed signs of a low energy enhancement above 1 MeV, or a strong scissors resonance.
