Background: Research has shown that physical activity helps to cope with stress and prevents its adverse effects on physical and mental health. Despite these benefits, many parents don't practice such activity due to their other obligations. Until now, few studies have investigated the link between physical activity and the experience of psychological distress among parents having a child with an intellectual disability.
