Paul Keating's May Mini Budget/Economic Statement includes an additional $47 million allocated to fight soil degradation and salinity over the next three years. The proposed allocations include $5.5 million over three years to the salinity problems of the Murray-Darling; $1.5 million to assist with additional mapping of the Murray-Darling and the National Soil Conservation Program will receive $10.8 million in 1988/89, $13.5 million in 1989/90 and $15.8 million in 1990/91.
