The annual meeting and 10th anniversary dinner of the Whittington Interceptor Salt Affected Land Treatment Society (WISALTS) was held recently. The society was formed in 1978 with the WISALTS principles and methods for reclaiming salt affected land attracting Australia's interest. President Pam McGregor said it was important for farmers and the public in general to know what had been achieved in the last ten years by WISALTS, in particular developing and perfecting a water control system which addressed all forces contributing to soil degradation.
