POTENCIAL GEOTURÍSTICO EM UNIDADES DE CONSERVAÇÃO DA COSTA VERDE (ESTADO DO RIO DE JANEIRO): O PARQUE NACIONAL DA SERRA DA BOCAINA E O PARQUE ESTADUAL CUNHAMBEBE

Protected Areas (PA) are natural areas delimited by laws that aim to preserve natural resourcesand biodiversity. In this sense, geotourism becomes relevant within the PA, because is a typeof tourism that aims to value and promote the conservation of geological and geomorphologicalfeatures, providing the approach and understanding of Geosite visited. The geotouristicattractions can be related to areas of environmental fragility and to the use of water resourcesfor leisure, as in the case of the studied areas. This research has the objective of analyzing thegeotourism potential of two PA located in the Costa Verde of Rio de Janeiro State: Serra daBocaina National Park (PNSB) and Cunhambebe State Park (PEC). From the field research itwas possible to identify four geosites on the coast of the PNSB and six in the Sahy Valley inthe PEC. It is concluded that the two PAs have high geotouristic potential, although the PNSBreceives the highest number of visitors. This may be related to the access, visibility, and theearliest creation date of the PNSB. However, both PAs still need to invest more in thedissemination of geological and geomorphological heritage.As Unidades de Conservação (UCs) são áreas delimitadas e protegidas por lei que visamconservar os recursos naturais e a biodiversidade. O geoturismo vem ganhando relevânciadentro das UCs, pois é uma vertente do turismo, que tem como objetivo valorizar e estimular aconservação do patrimônio geológico e geomorfológico. Os atrativos geoturísticos podem estarrelacionados a áreas de fragilidade ambiental e à utilização de recursos hídricos para lazer,como no caso das áreas estudadas. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar o potencialgeoturístico de duas UCs localizadas na região da Costa Verde fluminense: o Parque Nacionalda Serra da Bocaina (PNSB) e o Parque Estadual Cunhambebe (PEC). A partir da pesquisa decampo foram identificados quatro geossítios no litoral do PNSB e seis no Vale do Sahy, noPEC. Conclui-se que as duas UCs possuem elevado potencial geoturístico, sendo que o PNSBrecebe maior número de visitantes. Isto pode estar relacionado à facilidade de acesso,visibilidade, maior diversidade dos atrativos e data de criação – mais antiga – do PNSB. Porém,as duas UCs ainda precisam investir mais na divulgação do seu patrimônio geológico egeomorfológico
