The study presented here is part of a larger research project whose context corresponds to the Monterrey metropolitan zone (MMZ), Mexico. Its purpose is to present the methodology used to determine whether the territory of the MMZ corresponds to that of a zoned space or a space divided into functions. Likewise, this work aims to stimulate reflection on possible connections between urban zoning and social assumptions related to the allocation of physical and social spaces based on gender.
