TURISMO SENIOR, PERFIL DEL TURISTA Y SUS MOTIVACIONES DE VIAJE:: UNA REVISIÓN SISTEMATIZADA

In recent decades there have been radical demographic changes around the world, these changes have created a severe impact on the nature of tourism demand. Senior tourism, that is, that for older adults, represents a real demand at the global level, which claims to be served according to its particularities. This paper aims to analyze the key aspects of senior tourism: its conceptualization, the profile of the senior tourist, and the determinants of their travel decisions. A systematic review was carried out electronically on the Web-of-Science, ScienceDirect, Redalyc and ReseachGate bases through the National Consortium of Scientific and Technological Information Resources (CONRICYT). including Articles in English and Spanish published from 2010 to 2020. The results suggest that the market requires the offer of tourist products and services according to the needs, expectations and characteristics of seniors; and on the other hand, to the importance of analyzing the determinants that condition your opportunity to travel. The review made it possible to identify the profiles of senior tourists, their typology and the characteristics of each group.En las últimas décadas se han producido cambios demográficos radicales en todo el mundo, estos cambios han creado un impacto severo en la naturaleza de la demanda turística. El turismo senior, es decir, aquel destinado a los adultos mayores, representa una demanda real en el ámbito mundial, que reclama ser atendido de acuerdo con sus particularidades. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar los aspectos claves del turismo senior: su conceptualización, el perfil del turista senior, y los determinantes de sus decisiones de viaje. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de manera electrónica en las bases Web-of-Science, ScienceDirect, Redalyc y ReseachGate a través del Consorcio Nacional de Recursos de Información Científica y Tecnológica (CONRICYT). incluyendo artículos en inglés y español publicados de 2010 a 2020. Los resultados apuntan que el mercado requiere la oferta de productos y servicios turísticos acordes a las necesidades, expectativas y características de los seniors; y por otro, a la importancia de analizar los determinantes que condicionan su oportunidad de viaje.
