Intestinal parasite infections lead to diseases with severe and long-lasting implications mainly in the infant population. The objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites in preschool and elementary school children. A questionnaire validated by a bioethics committee was applied to obtain data on risk factors associated with intestinal parasitism, and sterile containers were given to the children's parents to collect stool samples.
