In this letter dated February 24, 1921, Senator John W. Weeks writes to President-elect Warren G. Harding to offer two recommendations for the Assistant Secretaryship of War; Lieutenant Colonel Dwight Davis and U.S. Representative Thomas S. Crago of Pennsylvania. Davis served in World War I and had good results in the primary elections against Senator Spencer. Crago, a Spanish-American War veteran, served on the military committee of the House of Representatives, and Weeks has received several letters of endorsement from Crago's colleagues.
