In this letter dated December 30, 1920, Warren G. Harding writes to Lewis A. Coolidge in response to his letter of December 28, which gave his high regard of John W. Weeks, a U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, and suggested his consideration for Harding's cabinet. Harding replies that he highly regards Weeks, and has asked Weeks to be a member of his cabinet. After Harding is inaugurated in 1921, Weeks accepts his appointment as Secretary of War under President Harding. This letter is part of the Warren G. Harding Papers (MSS 345).
