The underrepresentation of Cambodian women in the major role of leadership and politics causes serious barriers for Cambodia to be sustainably developed; therefore, Cambodian women need to have equal rights and opportunities to uplift their voice in enhancing their goals as well as the country\u27s well-being. Two significant factors have prevented Cambodian women from assuming leadership roles: poverty and cultural norms. On one hand, poverty has prevented women from going to school, rather, forcing them to work menial jobs and becoming sex workers.
