In this paper, students inter-cultural competence in an American classroomhas been discussed. An ideal classroom has been created where students withexperience abroad can refer to their own experience in order to share their ownbackground with others. Instructors could take advantage of this source of realcultural exchanges without modifying the syllabus of the course. In this way, learnerscould develop their critical competence by using the intercultural approach. Learnerscould not only know another culture avoiding discrimination and developing tolerancebut also be inter-cultural people with the experience of their own life.
