Introduction: Globally, Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi is responsible for more than 10 million enteric fever cases, annually. Because of the emergence of multidrug resistance strains of many bacteria, including Salmonella Typhi, vaccination may be a preferred strategy to combat infectious diseases.
