Abstract: The connection established with primary caregivers gives rise to attachment styles, which are linked to the way in which emotions are regulated, especially in times of crisis and/or demanding environmental requirements. The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between attachment styles and emotional regulation in university students, through a relational, observational, prospective, cross-sectional and analytical research. A population of 294 Ecuadorian university students (23.80 % male; 76.20 % female) was evaluated.
