Communicative competence, both in the mother tongue and in foreign languages, is one of the eight key competences for lifelong learning. The aim of this research is to describe the methodological changes faced by the teacher since the CoVid-19 health crisis; to analyze the way in which the increasing need for digitalization influences the acquisition of communicative competences in foreign languages; and to explore the competences needed by the language teacher for the online teaching. The methodology is of a qualitative and ethnographic type on the teaching experiences of foreign languages in the online environment.
