Adjusting to Residential Aged Care (Seminar Series on Ageing)

The Swinburne Wellbeing Clinic for Older Adults presents an exciting series of webinars featuring guest presenters who are experts in the field of mental health and ageing to cover issues relating to late life conditions and treatments. One of the major areas of concern within the Aged Care field has been how to best assist with the adjusting process for those transitioning into residential aged care. This webinar will explore the major issues faced by families and staff as well as the individuals themselves. We have invited 4 panellists to share their experiences from their differing perspectives. Firstly we have Dr. Tanya Davison & Julie Kelly both experienced psychologists who have recently completed a research study called PEARL (Program to Enhance Adjustment to Residential Living). Next we have Grace Lennon a social worker and senior clinician who has worked for over 10 years with the TCP (Transitional Care Program) at Western Health. Lastly we have Jannie Piercy the Facility Manager of a BUPA Bellarine Lakes with a caring interest in improving the processes around supporting residents and families entering residential settings.
