Prussian Militarism and the German Wars of Unification

This paper explains how Prussian militarism gained a sense of supremacy and invisibility through the German Wars of Unification. Beginning with Prussia’s rule in defeating Napoleon from 1813, Prussia became in the center of German nationalism. After defeating Napoleon, Prussian militarism went into hibernation, as the monarchs abandoned the idea of nationalism and tried to put Europe back together. The prospect of German Unification became possible under Bismarck. The final step of German Unification was the war against France, as Prussia was portrayed as Germany\u27s savior against French aggression
