This image shows Daisy Eugenia Kinsland (1882-1948), born in the Bethel Community of Haywood County. Daisy graduated from Mission Hospital School of Nursing in 1912, enlisted in the Army on March 15, 1918, and retired August 31, 1938. She served overseas in the Army Nurse Corps, Base Hospital No. 65 in Camp Kerhuon, France, during World War I. She returned to the United States from Brest, France on January 12, 1920 on the transport vessel George Washington. She died in 1948 at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery
