This study assessed Nigerias budgetary allocations to the Education sector from year 2000 to 2010. Simple percentage method was adopted in the empirical investigation. The study showed that Nigerias budgetary allocation was less than the 26 percent recommended by the United Nations Educational Scientifc and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in the years under review. This has led to a decay in the educational sector of the country. The study also discovered that the allocated funds were not fully implemented by the concemed agencies. For this to be corrected, the study recommended among others that, the country should implement at least the 26 percent target in its yearly budgets, more funds should be allocated for capital projects and there i...
