This research studied the predictability of joint SS2 promotion examinations of all the command secondary schools in Nigeria on academic performance of students in Senior School Certificate Examinations. The sample consists of 120 students selected at the Command Secondary School, Abakaliki and Command Day Secondary School, Enugu through systematic sampling technique out of a population of 692 students. Using spearman’s correlation coefficient and mean statistics, it was observed that a positive relationship exists between the performances of students in Joint Promotion Examinations and West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
