Hazards are inevitable in the workplace. Workers awareness of impeding dangers imbedded in their workplace, work schedule and in the environment can be an effective panacea to eliminating or reducing these hazards to a barest minimum. Awareness comes through information and training. This study was carried out in Edo State, South- South Nigeria at the three tiers of Government, the federal, state and local government to ascertain what the public sector was doing to reduce hazards. It was observed that the effect of training in relation to occupational hazard is yet to be fully utilized in the Nigerian public sector
