The global population is rapidly increasing, requiring more road transportation vehicles: increasing the demand on oil for the production and fueling of these vehicles, with challenges of oil production shortage due to increased pipeline vandalism, and issues of climate change and global warming as a result of tailpipe emissions from internal combustion engine (ICE). The mass production of the hybrid electric (HE) and the electric vehicle (EV) is still awaited due to subsystem inefficiencies. Increasing the efficiencies of the power converters within subsystems of these HEVs and EVs will increase the performance of the new transportation vehicles.
