This paper examines human trafficking, which is today rated as the third world organized crime after drugs and arms. The concept of the trade, which crosses internal and international borders, has also been discussed. The factors that facilitate the trade like poverty, personal and social are equally identified and discussed. The effects of human trafficking on the health, economic and psychological wellbeing of the victims are also examined and the counselling implications also offered since the process of social and psychological adjustment calls for the attention of counselling. The paper therefore recommends information and vocational counselling for the prevention of human trafficking and economic adjustment of repatriated victims.Key ...
