Currently, the voting process in Mauritius is a manual one and it incurs a lot of expenses. For a small country like Mauritius, at least two days are spent in the process: one day for voting and another for counting and many officials are involved on both days. In order to avoid these problems, in this paper, it is proposed to use a computerised voting system. The new system is based on existing infrastructure and minimal additional costs. The new system will be based on a client server system with many client computers connected to a central server.
