The population of Nigeria has been increasing steadily without a corresponding increase in resources required to cater for the population explosion. When the growth in resources is not keeping pace with the rapid growth in population, this poses a great threat to the nation in terms of social, environmental and economic development. This paper focused on the application of logistic model to estimate the population growth of Nigeria. The carrying capacity and vital coefficients of the population were estimated. The study revealed that the population of Nigeria grows at the rate of 3.0% per annum. The model was also employed to forecast for the Nigeria population. The study shows that the population of Nigeria will be approximately half of it...
