Knowledge is power and the need for knowledge brings about education. Therefore, the need for education for personal and societal development and empowerment cannot be overemphasized hence the education of males and females is never a waste. Women can contribute to the development of any society/nation if empowered and as such they should be exposed to the necessary education. This paper discusses women education and its benefits. It also discusses the challenges women face and suggested ways out of these challenges. JORIND Vol. 5 (1) 2007: pp. 91-9
