The Relationship between Motivation and Job Satisfaction of Managers in the Retail Business in Nigerian

This study was conducted to investigate the impact of motivation on jobsatisfaction of retail business managers. To achieve this purpose, researchquestions were raised, hypotheses were formulated, and relevant literatureswere reviewed. The population for this study consisted of managers of UACNigeria. In order to generate the necessary data for this study, a wellstructured questionnaire was administered on the selected managers of theretail store. The data generated were analyzed using simple percentages andmean scores while the stated hypotheses were statistically tested with theChi-square test and the Spearman’s correlation co-efficient. Our findingsrevealed that motivation has strong impact on job satisfaction of retailbusiness managers as it improves their quality of output. It was thereforerecommended that proprietors of retail business should design appropriatemotivational techniques that will enhance job satisfaction of retail businessmanagers
