Post harvest seed rot pathogens of Irvingia gabonensis were investigated against the rot fungi, tusing samples collected from twelve markets located within the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The survey revealed the presence of Aspergillus flavus (17.70%), Aspergillus niger (16.78%), Botryodiplodia theobromae (13.65%), Fusarium moniliforme (12.67%), Penicilliumnotatum (14.48%) and Rhizopus nigricans (24.70%) as the associated pathogens. The distribution, pathogenicity and spore germination kinetics were discussed and control measures proffered. Keywords: Irvingia gabonensis , rot fungi, karnel, pathogenicity
