High prevalence rate of cannabis use has been found among medical trainees; this study determined lifetime, past year and current prevalence rates of cannabis use among final year medical students of a Nigerian University and found out if there were significant gender differences in the prevalence, knowledge and attitude to cannabis use. A questionnaire which consisted of socio-demographic/other variables and the World Health Organization Questionnaire for Student Drug Use Surveys was administered. The current, past year and lifetime prevalence rates of cannabis use were 3.8%, 5.7% and 9.4% respectively.
