Dyslipidemia is elevation of plasma cholesterol, triglycerides (TGs), or both, or a low high density lipoprotein level that contributes to the development of atherosclerosis. Lipid pattern of renal disease patients were determined. One hundred volunteers were recruited for this study which comprised of sixty renal disease patients and forty apparently healthy individuals attending Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State. Total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL) as well as very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) were evaluated using standard methods.
