A model for predicting solar radiation available at any given time in the inhabited area in Ilorin was developed. From the equation developed, the optimum tilt angle of the collector due south was carried out. The optimum angle of tilt of the collector and the orientation are dependent on the month of the year and the location of the site of study. This varied from 00 to 320 for Ilorin, Nigeria. The angle was found to depend on the location. When the collector is inclined at the actual angle for a particular month, the absorber with minimum reflection and absorption at the cover glass absorbs maximum solar radiation.
