Nigeria is not on track to achieving the health Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by the year 2015. This paper emphasizes that health MDGs may not be achieved if the imperatives of strategies such as community participation, inter-sectoral linkages and interventions, reduction of inequality and poverty, and health promotion are not employed. It is hoped that government’s concerted efforts towards application of these strategies will put Nigeria on track to achieving the health MDGs.Keywords: Millenium Development Goals, strategies, progressNigerian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 8 No 1 pp. 174 - 182 (September 2010
