In this study, the resource productivities of food crop farmers were determined by gender. Multistage sampling technique was used in the collection of 100 food crop farmers (50 male and 50 female). The result showed that resources of land, labour and capital are more productive in the male farms than in the female farms. Therefore, all socio-cultural barriersthat had hitherto militated against women in the ownership and acquisition of farm lands should be removed in order to raise productivity among food crop farmers. Availability and accessibility to credit facilities should be equally distributed to enable the food crop farmers hire more farm hands.Key words: gender, resource productivity, small scale food crop farmer
