This paper focused on roles of gender on forest management in Chaani and Pete villages, in Unguja, Zanzibar. The paper examined the roles of women and men in the management of forest resources. In total, 200 people were interviewed where both quantitative and qualitative data were collected. Information and data on gender involvement in forest conservation and management were procured through interviewing respondents using questionnaires and interview guides. Focus group discussions and observation were also used in data collection.
