Rural women's attitude towards their children's education

The study investigated rural women's attitude towards their children education. Data was collected with the aid f structured questionnaire from 89 rural women in Ohaji/Egbema Local government area of Imo State. Data analysis was by the use of frequency and percentage. Findings of the study showed that a greater percentage of the respondents were between 41 and 50 years, and with a mean age of 46. 8 years were married and had household size of between 3 and 6 members with an average of 5 members in a household. Data on income levels of rural women showed that most respondents earned between N21, 000 and N30, 000 in a month, with an average monthly income of N20, 253. The findings of the study revealed that most respondents received formal education (primary and secondary). Findings of the study also showed that respondents were engaged in both farming and trading. This is an indication that rural women were diversifying to be able to sustain themselves and their family.
