La Tuberculose chez les chameaux à l’Est de l’Ethiopie a été étudiée pour la première fois à travers une étude transversale pour décrire sa prévalence et isoler le Mycobacterium bovis. Un nombre total de 276 chameaux (dromadaires) abattus à l’abattoir de Dire Dawa ont été examinés pour détecter la présence de lésions tuberculeuses macroscopiques et faire une culture afin d’isoler le Mycobacterium bovis. Sur les 276 chameaux examinés, 14 (5,07%) ont été déclarés positifs après l’autopsie. Sur 14 échantillons, 4 ont confirmé la croissance de mycobactérie dans un milieu de Loewenstein-Jensen enrichi au pyruvate indiquant la présence de Mycobacterium bovis.
