Use of internet and E-Resources by Agricultural students in a Nigerian University

The study examined the use of internet and e- resources by Agricultural students in a Nigerian university. The total population of students was 1, 200. The population sample for this study was 200 sets of questionnaire were administered to students between 200 and 500 leves in the departments of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Animal Production and Health and Agronomy. A simple non-proportionate random sampling technique of 50 students from each level were used to select sample for this study. In all, 191 sets of questionnaire were returned; the data so collected were analysed descriptively using tables and simple percentages. The study revealed that Agricultural students used internet facilities and e-resources for their studies and academic programmes while internet services e-mail and journals/e-books were mostly used. The major constraints identified include problems with internet skills, electricity, data information overload, difficulty in finding relevant information and data authenticity.
