This study investigated gender effect on the performance of Junior Secondary School (JSS) students in mathematics in Ibadan municipal. Descriptive survey research design was used for this study. It is an ex-post-facto research design which made use of the Junior School Certificate Examination results of students for the year 2003-2009 from twenty junior secondary schools from five different Local Government Areas in Ibadan municipal. Four schools were randomly selected from each Local Government Areas and a total of 24, 476 students’ result was used. Five hypotheses were raised and tested.
