Traditional dances were a popular phenomenon all over the entire African Continent, where they were intricately intertwined with people's culture. It occurred in a wide variety of ways and played an indispensable multi-purpose role within the communities. This wide variety provided people with an adequate way for verbal, physical, social and emotional expressions. This paper analyses the social values of traditional dances among the people of the Mount Kenya region. Educational aspects of the traditional dances are also discussed.
