Obesity has become a major public health problem. The study aimed at investigating the association between religiousness, body mass index (BMI), and waist circumference (WC). In a cross-sectional survey, undergraduate university students from 26 countries responded to a questionnaire and anthropometric measurements. The total sample included 18211 university students (57.9% female and 42.1% male). The mean BMI for men was 22.5 and for women 22.0, and the men WC for men was 78.4 and for women 73.8.
