This paper investigates the prediction of oil critical rate in vertical wells using Meyer-Gardner correlations by developing a computer program to determine the oil critical rate for a vertical well in a reservoir system. The results obtained from manual computation and prediction using the program is the same. This shows that the program developed is reliable. The results also shown that perforated interval, pay-zone thickness and fluid properties affect critical oil rate. Keywords: Breakthrough, Time, Reservoir, Conin
