International audienceDuring the interwar period the School Proportional Allocation (répartition proportionnelle scolaire) mobilised the French Catholics for the financing of private education. Supported by a strong, intransigent movement, this claim was better outlined by the Catholic members of public education, the Christian democrats and, later, the National Commission for catholic education, set up at the turn of the 1930s by the French bishops.
