Some haematological and biochemical implications of Trypanosoma brucei infection was studied using Wistar albino rats. The haematological parameters studied are the white blood cell (WBC) count, which was used as an index of the presence and level of infection, and packed cell volume (PCV) which was used as an index of the presence and level of anaemia, while biochemical parameters assayed are sodium ions (Na+), potassium ions (K+), bicarbonate ions (HCO-3) and urea.
