'‘Mothers of the people’ in protest: Afrikaner women march in Pretoria, 1915 and 1940'This article investigates the participation of Afrikaner women in resistance politics in the era before apartheid. The spotlight falls on two mass-marches which Afrikaner women organised in respectively 1915 and 1940 to the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
