International audienceThe Mediterranean littoral of Nice area and western Liguria provided numerous fossil sea levels linked or not with archaeological sites and dating from the Lower Pleistocene to the Holocene. Sites containing quaternary marine deposits are mixed of pebbles, sands and sea shells. They can actually be found at an altitude variying from 2 m to 110 m above the sea level.
