Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is an uncommon but important cause of myocardial infarction (MI), particularly in women. Due to the distinct pathophysiology of this process, early diagnosis and differentiation from atherogenic coronary disease are important in selecting appropriate management. In addition, increased recognition of this condition among providers with the application of appropriate medical therapies and carefully selected interventions can improve outcomes. This article describes the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and management of SCAD
